Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how TrueCare works, who we support, and what to expect when you reach out.
Which areas do you serve?
TrueCare serves Calgary, Edmonton, and communities across Alberta. Wherever you are in the province, reach out and we will let you know what support is available in your area.
How do I request support?
You can send an inquiry through our contact page or call (587) 969-7000. We will set up a first conversation to understand your situation, then arrange a home visit and put together a care plan in writing.
Do I need to know which service I need before reaching out?
Not at all. Many families reach us knowing only that they need help. Describe your situation in your own words, and we will walk you through the options and what each would look like in practice.
Will my family meet the same caregivers each week?
Yes. We build arrangements around familiar faces, so trust has time to grow. When a regular caregiver is unavailable, we give families plenty of notice and introduce the replacement beforehand.
How are your caregivers selected?
Every caregiver is carefully screened, insured, and trained before entering a client's home, and matched to each household for personality and warmth as much as for skill.
Can support be adjusted over time?
Absolutely. Needs change, and support should follow. We review arrangements regularly with families and adjust hours, services, and caregivers as circumstances evolve.
Do you support children, youth, and adults?
Yes. Alongside care for seniors and people recovering at home, our disability and inclusion programs provide age-appropriate support for children, youth, and adults.
What is the difference between home care and residential care?
Home care brings support to you or your loved one's own home, from a few hours a week upward. Residential care offers welcoming shared homes with 24-hour support, home-cooked meals, and daily connection for those who need it.
How much does care cost?
Every arrangement is different, so we do not publish flat rates. After your first conversation and home visit, you receive a written care plan with agreed hours and agreed pricing — no surprises.
Is this an emergency service?
No. TrueCare provides planned, non-emergency support. If you or someone with you is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical attention, call 911 first.
Still have a question?
We are happy to talk it through. Call us or send an inquiry and a member of the TrueCare team will follow up with you.
